It has been my pleasure to have taught within the Genesee County Catholic Schools for more than twenty years.  I have taught first grade the majority of those years.  It is a joy to spend every day with young children who are eager to learn and grow not only academically but also spiritually.  They keep me smiling and wondering what is next. 

I earned my undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in education from Central Michigan University with a major in Science, a minor in Language Arts.  I continued on to receive my Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have also completed a specialist certificate from Oakland University in Autism Education.  I have classroom experience which includes teaching grades first through eighth and Physical Education.  This past summer I enjoyed working with children with autism. 

I am blessed with a lovely family which includes my husband David and three sons, Andrew, Alec, and Jack.  My youngest son is a senior at Powers Catholic this year and my older two sons are now Powers Alumni.  I can’t forget to mention my two little dogs, Joey and Tyson.  Some things I like to do personally are spending time with family and friends, time at the beach, vacationing, and reading.
